This diary shows how the media use camera tricks to distort the facts. And you'll notice who happens to be taking advantage of it this time--and what he's doing.

The thing that made me choke was the picture of Bush and Laura standing on a US flag doormat.

On 9/11. At Ground Zero. They were standing. On. A US flag. DOORMAT.

I fucking hate that man.

ETA: Even better. If the comments attached to that entry can be believe, Bush came the day before to lay the wreath. Yeah. For a 9/11 observance, he showed up... on 9/10.

Go George.

ETA2: I should clarify that what pissed me off was the disregard/disrespect. But I'm still MUCH more pissed at his treatment of the Constitution.

Amusing. I thought he was the doormat? After all, Cheney's calling the shots....

I figured something like that had happened when I saw the film of Bush and wife at the memorial on the 6.30am news on the morning of the 11th. I didn't think it got that light in New York at 1.30am!!

Icon love. To think I doubted the potential sexiness of the new doctor.

That is actually a very frightening point that journal points out -- how easily the idea of solitude or the feeling of crowds can be manipulated with some clever shots. Sort of in sharp contrast to the Tiananamen Square picture with the tanks, which gets more horrifying when you pull back and it turns out the guy is facing down not just one but FOUR tanks . . .

Everything about the Bush administration reeks of photo-ops and alteration. It's the ultimate triumph of image over capability.
