Boy I sure do love the California Workers' Compensation system.
I had a court date this morning for a "mandatory settlement conference." In actuality, this consisted of me sitting in the cafeteria reading while my lawyer walked back and forth between the cafeteria and the judge's conference room, getting more info from me and then going back to duke it out some more with the insurance companies' lawyers. (Yes, there's more than one carrier involved. Oh joy.)
End result: a continuance. Next episode will occur "after August 20." There will be yet more lawyers involved. *thud* But there's still the possibility of a settlement, so I'm willing to wait it out. It may even go to trial. Bleh. I hope not.
Round and round and round we go...
Sigh.
And now, I eat.
