Hurricane Katrina

I have one friend worried sick about his friends in the disaster zone and heartsick at the destruction of places he holds dear.

I have a couple of friends who, last I knew, were living in Florida, and as I've lost touch with them I have no way of knowing if they're okay. The storm pretty much passed over Florida, so if anything, probably just their power is out--but I just don't know for sure.

Mostly I just look at pictures of the devastation and I feel sad.

If you can afford to give something to the Red Cross or another charity, please think about making a donation. Sometimes there's nothing else we can do.

Back in 89, we lost a house in South Carolina and it really devestated my grandparents to see their house literally turned upside down on it's roof. They replaced the house, but still...

I haven't seen pictures, but I remember what hurrican damage is like firsthand and how long it takes to recover. I hope those people will be okay.
