Melting the Skin off of Children

I read this excellent post by a guy called Hunter on Daily Kos this morning. Just one more reason that this war is fucked up.

So in conclusion, I am going to come out, to the continuing consternation of Rush Limbaugh and pro-war supporters everywhere, as being anti-children-melting, as a matter of general policy.

Furthermore, I would suggest to the President of the United States that if you find yourself in the position where your on-the-ground forces find melting the skin off of children to be the preferable of all available options, your military outlook is well and truly fucked, and you might perhaps start considering alternative means of stabilizing the country.

Oh, and the behavior in question happened quite some time ago. Like, November of last year. What does it say that it took until yesterday for the shit to hit the fan? I mean, I sure hadn't heard anything about it.

Fucking news media.

I purposely didn't look at that picture the first time I read the article. Then I did look, while writing this post. I just stared for a bit and then thought, "I can't identify what's what there and I'm not going to try because it will really upset me and brand the image on my brain forever," and stopped looking.

The image is already fading, though the anger and sadness remain. It's better this way. I have enough things to upset me stored in my memory.
