So a guy from Louisiana has sued Apple, saying that iPods are "inherently defective in design and are not sufficiently adorned with adequate warnings regarding the likelihood of hearing loss."

That is totally outrageous. I suppose that there should be a label on my curling iron also saying "please do not poke in eye" just in case I do. That man should be slapped.

It's like this lawsuit ages ago, where a woman sued McDonald's because - gasp - the plastic cup of hot coffee she purchased there contained - double-gasp - hot coffee.

While I think I'd probably sue if I found cold or frozen coffee repeatedly in my McDoofus plastic cup doing the reverse and sueing because you got what you ordered did the trick - or at least serious money - in her case.

The result is that most products - at least those that are also shipped in the US - are plastered with warning labels & signs seriously impending a) my sanity and b) offend my intellect.
... hm. Damaged intellect is a serious problem in my line of work, probably I should sue... *eg*

It really really pisses me of when the government, lawyers or people in general assume that they need to think for me. Dammnit if I wanna listen to my music LOUD I am gonna listen to it LOUD and hope that some day I can still be able to hear :)

Um, that one was actually valid - the coffee in question caused serious burns. If she'd taken a sip instead of spilling it in her lap, she would have been hurt pretty badly.

However, I do agree that there's tons of bogus lawsuits out there, and even more warnings against people being stupid. :P

Triv is right... that coffee was ridiculously hot. Like, no one human ever drinks coffee that hot. It was past boiling. McD's is run by freaks.

Ah well, that wasn't in the news report over here. They spoke only of "hot coffee", which is what coffee should be. Seems to be a case of insufficient news then. Thanks for correcting. :)
