Slow down, you move too fast

elbalesThere's this really interesting article here about a world-class concert violinist who did an experiment with the Washington Post: If he played his violin in a Washington, DC Metro station, would people stop to listen?
Sadly, the results don't surprise me.
People don't stop to notice beauty enough. They don't look at the flowers, the birds, the clouds, the other people. They're too busy doing whatever. Sometimes I'm in that much of a hurry, too, but I try. I do. I look, or at least I do my best. Sometimes there's an element of "ooh, shinything!" in there, too.
Maybe the first step toward healing the world is to be in the world. We forget that. We get too much inside our own heads and we stop living in our bodies.
I know I do.
