There was a bit in the Sunday London Times (online edition) that this latest Dr. Who incarnation may be the very last.

Could that be true, for such a successful franchise?

I hope not. It's such a British staple. There are adults today watching the series who grew up with it. Even when it's bad, it's good, if you know what I mean. Brilliant ideas for saving the day + cheesy special effects + silly aliens + "What is it, Doctor?" x 10²⁴ = WIN.
