And it only far reinforces my determination to never, ever, ever fly an American-based carrier for an international flight (unless the ticket is literally dirt cheap, and I'm talking under $400, and then I figure I'll get what I pay for - shitty American servirce). All of my flights this summer, save for one, are on British Airways - hardly the height of comfort, but I don't expect anything like this to happen - and I *would* expect that from an American airline....
