I'm glad your vacation was restful. I was worried about you. But you posted often enough that I didn't have much time to miss you, nor to start worrying afresh.
I love academia, too. Where the hell else can I make friends with a brilliant, but lovely Swede, Nobel Prize Winners out the wazoo and generally be touched by the minds whose ideas determine the course of epochs. Because, to paraphrase Baraka, they forget who the kings were, but when they quote epochs, they quote poets. Not a bad deal, all around.
Any blam time in the next month? After your paper of course. (The Friday extension was indeed very sweet.) I'm off for about a month. I'll still probably be reading just as much fro my next semester, but I'm officially "off."

I would move in too, were it just a tad closer to princeton. then again, if I go to visit katerina this summer, we are skipping across the narrow sea to go see it FOR REAL! :) I will take pictures, I promise.
I guess it's mostly that I found the idea... disturbing. Mmm, burning, rapine, and looting! Wholesome fun for the whole family! But I'll get over it. I mean, it's been parodied in Monty Python, for gods' sakes; what else is left? ^_^
