This is what they're giving kids to play with now? No wonder the new generation is all fucked up.
Geez. If I have kids, we're living in BFE, home schooling them, and not buying any toys besides blocks, dolls, Legos, sports equipment, and the like.
(Addendum: and no TV. None. The set is for watching DVDs.)

Phraseology aside, I so want a light-up hedgehog. And I should get my mother one for her birthday, she'd love it.

Date: 2004-03-06 04:15 pm (UTC)It was a PBS show about math, sort of like 321 Contact was for science, only better. It consisted of short music videos (including spots by celebrities like Weird Al, and The Fat Boys), game shows, skits and comedy routines, and the like, all aimed at teaching mathematical concepts--but in a FUN way. It also contianed the miniseries "Mathnet," in which a pair of cops (Kate Monday and George Frankly) solved crimes using math.
Square One TV rocked--and rocks--the socks of my mother and I muchly. Sadly, it is no longer available for viewing, although I understand they have published videos of some of the (less memorable) Mathnet miniseries. Many of the shorts can be found on the net, though.
You can stream some of the music videos here (http://www.squareonetv.org/videos/video.html). If your player can't watch those, or if you want more, I can give you other links.
