Well, this really makes you leave out a lot, but here's a snapshot of some of the songs I like best.
1) Total volume of music files on my computer:
1.09 GB. I haven't gotten around to ripping all that much. My husband usually does all that--it's mouse intensive.
2) The last cd I bought was...
Kate Price, Deep Heart's Core. It's okay; some songs pretty good, a few not so interesting.
3a) The last song i listened to before writing this was:
Errrrrrr... Is this gonna be on the test? Thinking... Might have been "Dante's Prayer" from Loreena McKennit's The Book of Secrets.
3b) Song playing right now:
There isn't one. I grew up in a household where there was always music playing, usually someone else's, and sometimes even Mahler or Wagner turned up to 11 (pity me), so I appreciate silence.
4) Six songs I listen to a lot or that mean a lot to me are:
1. Loreena McKennitt... well, pretty much everything she's written, but especially "The Mummer's Dance," "Cé Hé Mise Le Ulaingt? / The Two Trees" (I actually walked down the aisle at my wedding to this one), "Snow," and "Full Circle" (and I'm counting all this as one so my readers can learn more about my musical tastes; I'm sure you're all breathless with anticipation)
2. Sarah McLachlan, "Hold On"
3. Bryan Ferry, "Bête Noir"
4. Elton John, "Rocket Man"
5. Counting Crows, "Anna Begins"
6. Mary Chapin Carpenter, "10,000 Miles"
and here, have a bonus:
7. Dishwalla, "Counting Blue Cars"
5) Which 5 people are you passing the baton to, and why?
Just to be contrary... I'm not. Pick it up or don't. It's up to you.
Hey, btw, does anyone have a source for a legal copy of the obscure "Voyage Voyage" by the French singer Desireless? ... !! ... Never mind. I just ordered it from Amazon.
...squee?
Wow, memory of a long night drive home from Sacramento, where I was visiting friends... I was driving down... 680?... and this song came on KITS, which during the '80s was the cool pop station. It's haunted me ever since. I actually have a Windows media file copy of it, but I can't burn that to CD, and I'd rather have a legal copy so the singer gets her money.
