May. 14th, 2005 06:01 pm1. Total number of movies I own on DVD:
24, I think. There may be more buried in and around Hardi's desk, but it's worth my life going in there. I am leaving out TV shows. We have a few more of those--some Prisoner, some Doctor Who. It's mostly Hardi's stuff.
2. The last movie I bought:
Bought?
...No, okay... ages ago I bought this wonderfully cheesy Rutger Hauer flick (does he make any other kind?) called Split Second. I like cheesy movies, but it has to be either quality cheese or a really huge flaming ball of Cheez Whiz, and I only want that latter kind on occasion. Otherwise I stick with well made movies. That may actually be the only one of our films I bought myself. I don't buy many movies. I usually rent or borrow. Hardi went and bought me most of the Miyazaki films, but those were all presents.
3. The last movie I watched:
On DVD: a fluffy Western (yes, I think that's the right adjective) called The Shadow Riders. Borrowed it from Dad. I've just rented the Lemony Snicket film, which I missed in the theatres, and the unrated King Arthur, because we all need more hot wicker action in our lives.
Edit: So, wow, yeah. King Arthur. That was appalling. If you want to know anything about Mr. Bruckheimer's take on our favorite Round Table, just spare yourself and go read
cleolinda's King Arthur in Fifteen Minutes instead. It covers the (lame) plot and is hysterically funny to boot. And it takes a lot less of your life, even if you fast-forward through all of the gratuitous scenery pans and excessive stabnation, like I did.
Why, why, why didn't I listen to Cleo?
p.s. You'll have to join the
m15m community to read. Woe.
End edit
In the theatres: H2G2. Fun, nothing Earth-shattering, you should pardon the choice of adjectives.
4. Five movies that I watch a lot or that mean a lot to me:
Laputa (Tenkuu no shiro Rapyuta)
The Empire Strikes Back
The Return of the King
Shadow of a Doubt
Split Second
Wow, I'm had trouble coming up with five. For me, "watch a lot" is a relative term. I don't watch movies all that often. I'm a much bigger reader.
5. To which five people am I passing the baton? And why?
Just to be contrary, I'm not. Pick it up or don't, my friends. Up to you.
