Rep. Senfronia Thompson of Houston made a really fantastic speech opposing a proposed constitutional ban on gay marriage in Texas... which went on to pass anyway, sadly but not surprisingly. Fucking hatemongers and their bloody dreams of theocracy. Yes, "bloody" pretty much covers it. :P

Can't we just have our holy war and be done with it? Seriously, I'm willing to do my part for the cause. I just hate getting my ass handed to me by the religious zealots. I want to kick ass, take names and then pull a Napolean: When the army marches up to the White House, I will have the soldiers behind me point their guns the other way and play a little "meet the new boss" with who ever remains inside. I shall be Kevin the I. I will stablize the economy by allowing gay marriage and providing gay couplse incentives to buy homes and to spend that disposable income that comes from theiir increases social benefits. Then, I will use the new flush of cash to establish a new public works and universal healthcar. Yep. Gay marriage and making me an enlightened despot will fix everything.
